Live at Woodstock is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on July 6, 1999. The album documents most of Hendrix's performance with his band Gypsy Sun and Rainbows at Woodstock Festival on August 18, 1969. Many of the tracks on this album were released in 1994 on Woodstock. As with the earlier release, rhythm guitarist Larry Lee's medley of "Gypsy Woman" with "Aware of Love" (both songs originally by The Impressions) and his "Mastermind" are not included.
In the summer of 1999, Experience Hendrix rolled out Live at Woodstock, which features the entire set over the course of two discs. And does he ever jam - almost everything clocks in at over five minutes, with a couple weighing in at over ten minutes. Naturally, this will hardly be seen as a detriment by legions of Hendrix fans, and that's who this set is for. Listening to all of Live at Woodstock takes dedication.

Jimi Hendrix was one of those acts who was great in the studio, but seeing him live was a totally mind blowing experience. Unfortunately, many aspiring musicians and music lovers of the modern generation do not have the pleasure to go out and see Jimi, since its been 30 some years since he died of a drug overdose. However, with albums like Live at Woodstock, music lovers can hear the guitar great play some fine tunes during one of rock's most beloved concerts. This two-disc CD features 15 tracks from Jimi's performance on the final morning of Woodstock
Jimi Hendrix’s appearance at Woodstock in 1969 functions as a bookend to his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Where Monterey introduced Hendrix to the United States as a peerless performer and guitarist, Woodstock can be seen as his final anointment as the crown prince of the counterculture movement
