In the corner of a room, lit only by the flecks of a disco light, hang the bloodthirsty shoes that Sophie Ellis-Bextor previously wore for her 2001 hit, Murder on the Dancefloor. On Wanderlust, her fifth album, disco is now definitely deceased. Gone are the chart-ready refrains; in their place are dramatic strings, the odd harpsichord and SEB’s misty-eyed meanderings. Runaway Daydreamer and The Deer.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor being the queen of disco dance pop this album has a more rock & ballad feel to it is quite refreshing to hear with some dark undertones which indicates to me that she is expanding to a broad range of music she is achieving. From start to finish every song has a hook this a fantastic album from Sophie, if you are looking for any of her disco dancey numbers well I'm afraid you will be disappointed as this is currently the direction she is taking  .
