Galileans was also term used by some in the Roman Empire to name the followers of Christianity, called in this context as the Galilaean faith. Galilean, as an adjective, describes some aspects of mathematics or astronomy associated with Galileo: see for example Galilean moons and Galilean transformation. Galileans are also a fictional race of living planets in the Ben 10 universe that possess the ability to manipulate gravity. The most notable member of this species is Gravattack.

Good News to the world through The Word and Music.

Against the Galileans. Along with abandoning Jewish teachings, Julian also charges the Galileans with abandoning those of the original apostles (327A). He claims that no apostle claimed that Jesus was God until John, and he probably only did so to clarify an important dispute within a disunited church (327A). Galileans also disobey the words of Jesus, as they revere tombs and the dead, while Jesus referred to gravesites as places of impurity (335B).

The Galileans were the political extreme-right fanatics of their day. The group arose in northern Israel, headed by a man named Judas of Galilee, or Judas the Galilean, who led a rebellion against foreign elements, including the Romans. Other political groups and community groups that wielded influence about 2000 years ago in the land of Israel included the Herodians, Pharisees, Sadducees, Sanhedrin and Scribes. The Galileans came into violent confrontation with Pontius Pilate, who on one occasion had a number of them slaughtered.

The apostles were all Galileans by either birth or residence. Acts 1:11) It appears also that the pronunciation of those Jews who resided in Galilee had become peculiar, probably from their contact with their Gentile neighbors. Live album from 1976. i think it was recorded at the same time that The Hinson's "Live and On Stage" was recorded. The album art is from a 1972 Canaan Records live album called "Encore". These guys could jam and the harmonies are superb! Enjoy! Комментарии. Use to go to the Ellis auditorium in Memphis tn. and listen to them and the Happy Goodmans. Brings back Great Memories. Back then we use to dress up to go to a gospel sing. lol those of us in the audience looked as good as the one's on stage. Loved the Happy Goodman Family as well, but listen to the Galileans a lot more.

Galileans also had a reputation of being rabble-rousers, as they often took part in protests and uprisings against the Roman occupiers. It is significant that Jesus grew up in Galilee (Matthew 2:19–23) and in Galilee recruited most of His disciples, started His ministry, and performed His first miracles (Matthew 4:17–23; John 2:11). Jesus responded to hearing about the massacre of the Galileans with a warning: Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish (Luke 13:2–3). Instead of conjecturing on the Galileans’ sin, Jesus said, take care of your own sin. Everyone needs to repent. Peter, being a Galilean, spoke in a northern Aramaic dialect, and his accent and vocabulary gave him away when he was trying to remain anonymous on the night of Jesus’ arrest.
