I can't keep learning The same lessons over again I've tried to kick So many habits that I hold But they hold on to me Even when I let go of them. I can't keep learning The same lessons over again. I know my weaknesses I could tell you every one But I know that doing so Won't make me any stronger at all. My heart is hurting But I don't know when to say when I can't keep learning The same lessons over again.

For their fourth studio album, Lessons (out on September 24), Missouri-based indie-rockers Ha Ha Tonka left it all on the table. We wanted to get as crazy as we possibly could in the studio," guitarist-singer Brian Roberts told ELLE. com when he checked in from Southern California. We really wanted to make the biggest-sounding record we'd ever made. The centerpiece of the album is its title track, a steady, rhythmic rocker, which you can now listen to exclusively below. The song has a driving, almost pulse-like drumbeat and a repeated lyrical mantra
Ha Ha Tonka combines the rustic twang of the Ozark region with Southern-rock riffs and a flair for inventive, melodic songwriting. I hear hints of classic 1970s FM rock in these songs, along with the complex roots-rock found on Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

With a "Bible in one hand, broken bottle in the other" (Spin June '09) Ha Ha Tonka return with their sophomore effort on Bloodshot Records, Novel Sounds of the Nouveau South. The album takes listeners on a complex tour of the South-through lynchings and mob violence, sacrifice and reconciliation.
