I can't tell you up front that There to Here is of any interest to anyone who isn't already a Fugazi fan. I can tell you that this isn't just Fugazi bassist Joe Lally, but Joe Lally and Friends, including most of Fugazi, Amy Farina from the Evens, and drummer Jason Kourkounis, to name a few. That means there is some Evens-esque low-volume pop like "The Resigned" and some funk workouts like the title track where it's hard to believe it's not Brendan Canty on drums (he is conspicuously absent here). When friends stop by to contribute a few scraps of melody, they're often the highlights of the album. The Resigned" adds backing vocals from both Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina of the Evens to its strutting groove, the bass in "Billiards" makes room for a few blues licks, and the title track makes great use of incidental guitar noise, sounding far less claustrophobic than the rest of the record.
Sure, Lally has already walked out from the rhythm section shadows in Fugazi (Red Medicine's "By You" was his first "lead" vocal appearance), but it seemed that over the last few years, he had concerned himself with his label, Tolotta, compiling the Fugazi Live Series, and working with other musicians (John Frusciante, for one), rather than making an individual musical statement. So the expectations for his solo debut may have been a bit, well, puzzling. So what is the result? Surprisingly, There to Here is not what one would expect.
Nothing Is Underrated is the second solo album by Fugazi bassist Joe Lally. As the follow-up to Lally's debut, There to Here, it stylistically similar in its woody, bass-oriented grooves. Much like its predecessor, Nothing Is Underrated features various members of Washington . Scavenger's Garden" - 3:21.
Joe Lally Joe Lally has played bass in Fugazi since the band’s inception in 1987. In 2003, the members of Fugazi decided to take an indefinite hiatus from recording and performing. Since that time, Joe has continued to write and perform solo material, accompanied by various musicians and friends.
This song is the eighth song on Joe Lally's (Fugazi) solo album "There To Here. Currently we only support YouTube videos, but we will be adding other video (and audio!) services in the near future.

Joe has released three solo albums - There to Here (2006), Nothing is Underrated (2007), and Why Should I Get Used To It (2011). Joe's albums are never really solo efforts; rather they feature collaborations with fellow musicians who use his bass-lines as an anchor. Nothing Is Underrated", Joe's second album, was recorded in the summer of 2007, also at Dischord House and at Inner Ear Studio, and also with Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara.
