His latest release, When a Banana Was Just a Banana, sits comfortably in the grey area between house and techno-a niche that has seen the city of Mannheim become a key dance music metropolis in recent years. Banana is no mere reaction to current trends, however. It's a continuation of the work Wink has been putting out since 1989

Josh Wink releases his fourth studio album ‘When A Banana Was Just A Banana’. In a nutshell, it speaks really of the loss of innocence of music I miss the innocence of how it wa. .In March 2008, Wink unleashed the first single to be taken from ‘When A Banana Was Just A Banana’ - ‘Stay Out All Night’ defied the current music trend and was immediately made ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show, where he classed it as the biggest dance record in the world right now, as well as huge DJ support. from Dubfire, Laurent Garnier, Steve Bug, Loco Dice and many more. Sorry about the rant, but my copy of this CD is so distorted I cannot even listen to it for over two minutes. I am not surprised at all that there is no mastering credit inside the sleeve, because I would seriously expect threats if I put my name on it. If artists let labels & mastering engineers do THIS to their music, it is most certainly not worth paying money for.So, do not pay for this CD. Instead, buy the the unmixed digital version at Beatport, which is at least barely listenable. Then download a free distortion VST-plug and crank it to hell yourself if you want. It will probably sound better anyway.
Yes, the CD is distorted - it even clips heavily on one track (on all systems - was it "Dolphin Smack" - can't remember?). The vinyl versions do sound lovely, so I'd skip the digital versions all together and go for the 2x2x12" vinyls, cause they sound really, really good.
Thanks for your reply, doors. Trust me, the first thing I did was test the CD on different soundsystems. And I do trust my monitors when everything else sounds fine + a quick spectrogram/dBFS meter analysis shows huge amounts of digital beyond-zero (that is, dead-flat) sequences on this album exclusively. We are probably talking different revisions/masters here. Either that, or you are one of many people who find non-harmonic distortion pleasing to the ears.Anyway, as long as you enjoy the record it won't matter.
am sorregg ti say i lovegg his stuff, but this cd and the remix version is pish.
sorry buddy but your sound system is fucked, because my copy sounds fine on my speakers, headphones etc
