Ike and Tina were the supporting act to The Rolling Stones. Claudia Lennear was Mick Jagger’s girlfriend and an Ikette in Ike and Tina’s band for 3 years until she had a spat with Tina. The Rolling Stones song Brown Sugar is said to be written about Claudia and Marsha Hunt; Hunt was also Jagger’s girlfriend and mother of his first child, Karis. Having released their previous album Last Days And Time in November of 1972, Earth, Wind & Fire return to the studio almost immediately to record the follow up. Evolving musically at an exponential rate, the band led by drummer and vocalist Maurice White continue to define and refine their sound. The line up of personnel continues to change as well, with the departures of saxophonist Ronnie Laws and guitarist Roland Bautista, who leave to pursue solo careers and other interests.
