Belshazzar's Feast is a cantata by the English composer William Walton. It was first performed at the Leeds Festival on 8 October 1931, with the baritone Dennis Noble, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Leeds Festival Chorus, conducted by Malcolm Sargent. The work has remained one of Walton's most celebrated compositions. Osbert Sitwell selected the text from the Bible, primarily the Book of Daniel, and Psalm 137. The work is dedicated to Walton's friend and benefactor Lord Berners.

Notes

A Wilson Audiophile AGAT (Analog Golden Age Treasures) re-issue of the EMI recording of the March 28-30 1972 performance by Previn/LSO at Kingsway Hall, London.
Originally released as British Columbia LP SAN 324 on September 1974.
EMI's original masters were transferred to Wilson Audio Ultramaster tapes at Abbey Road by Wilson Audio.
An all-analog tape to lacquer transfer was performed at Wilson Audio, Provo, Utah.
Pressed as two 33rpm LPs to preserve the sound quality of the masters, the original EMI LPs squeezed over 30minutes of music onto one LP side, compromising sound quality. The music on Side C is repeated on Side D.
Packaged in a heavy gatefold cover with glued insert featuring AGAT Technical Notes and history of the recording.
