This circulates incorrectly as Pembroke College, Oxford, 27 May 1967, and was originally listed as such. Unfortunately the left mike failed and the recording is dominated by the guitar and the drums. The loss of bass is partially compensated for by the magnificent, very present sound of the drums. And another one: "Several bands played at the Barbeque 67 concert, Pink Floyd opened around 4pm in the afternoon, Cream, Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band, The Move, Zoot Money and His Big Roll Band, and Jimi Hendrix Experience. Admission was 1 Pound. The concert was horrendous.

Barbeque 67 was a music event held in the market town of Spalding, Lincolnshire Inception. Towards the end of 1966, Grantham promoter, Brian Thompson, set about booking Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band and The Move. Their management persuaded Thompson to also book three relatively unknown acts at that time, being Pink Floyd, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream. The event was held in Spalding at the tulip auction hall, most likely the largest building in the area that could hold.

After Cream came Zoot Money and his Big Roll Band and then, the guys who stole the whole show – Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band. As seasoned performers and non-stop tourers these guys knew how to get a tulip hall full of mods and rockers going and they tore the roof off the place. Now whilst we’re undoubtedly a blog that focuses on pop culture from the past we are not necessarily of the opinion that the good old days were always the best.

Cream were a British rock band formed in London in 1966. The group consisted of lead vocalist/bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker. The group's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), is the world's first platinum-selling double album. The band is widely regarded as the world's first successful supergroup. In their career, they sold over 15 million records worldwide
