Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the twentieth century. The set is in the Sony Complete Recordings series and features the original album covers as well as the original notes that were found on the back of the album. I find the original album notes a treasure trove of information that always helped to place a recording in context.

Martha Argerich: The Complete Sony Classical Recordings.

Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the twentieth century. Argerich rose to international prominence when she won the seventh International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1965 at age 24. In that same year, she debuted in the . in Lincoln Center s Great.

Sony also has the rights to Passages, Glass’ 1990 reunion with Ravi Shankar, his onetime mentor. On that album, each composer arranged themes by the other. Not everything there comes off seamlessly, but it’s a blast to hear Shankar’s adaptation of Glassian melody. The box also gathers obscure sets like Organ Works -an interesting series of Glass arrangements, performed by Donald Joyce. In doing so, The Complete Sony Recordings represents a worthy completion of the company’s original investment in a young composer.

Album · 2015 · 30 Songs. By Sergei Prokofiev - Claudio Abbado, Berlin Philharmonic & Martha Argerich.

The Warner Classics Recordings. CD (Number of discs: 20) 4 Nov 2016. Unquestionably one of the greatest pianists of all time is how Gramophone magazine has described Martha Argerich. Her relationship with Warner Classics goes back to 1965 and her victory at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Over several decades it has produced a rich catalogue of live and studio recordings, embracing a repertoire that spans three centuries, a diversity of genres, and collaborations with such figures as Renaud Capuçon, Charles Dutoit, Nelson Freire, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Gidon Kremer, Mischa Maisky and Itzhak Perlman.

Martha Argerich - Collection 4, Complete Philips Recordings (CD6). Quality: 192-320 Kbits/sec. More Piano Giants: Martha Argerich, Vol. 1 (2019). Chopin: The Legendary Recording (1999). Moderne Klassiker: Klavier (2003). J. S. Bach: Toccata BWV 911, Partita No. 2, English Suite No. 2 (2000). Beethoven: Violin Sonata Op.

It's filled with some of the most important and representative recordings made by this "virtuose" pianist. Sessions with Mischa Mayski are great also! Very recommended to everyone that appreciate calssical piano albums, performed by one of the greatest names of the last 50 years.
