Rosenstock and several other contributors were previously members of The Arrogant Sons of Bitches. As that band was breaking up, Rosenstock recorded the first BtMI! song, "Sweet Home Cananada," using his PowerBook's built-in microphone

The Slackers Ska is Dead Asbestos Records music btmi! btmi jeff rosenstock. It sucks how the music scene just kinda died. Like its cool seeing local pop punk bands and stuff but idk its different. 2004-2006 was essentially the best years for me personally because of all the ska i got into. Every weekend was a new band that came to San Antonio and it was fun. Shows were so cheap and so close to my house back then. I think i just miss being a kid and not having worries as in not worrying about driving home late, being short on gas, not having enough money for a show and a pack of cigarettes, or not worrying about how i was going to get beer before. There will be a split 7 inch with Vic Ruggiero in a few months then we’ll be starting to record another album.

The headliners have been announced for the upcoming UK leg of the Ska is Dead tour. The tour will feature the Planet Smashers, Mustard Plug, and Bomb the Music Industry on all dates and two or three local bands according to the organizers
