Into the Light is a concept album, the second studio solo album released by American singer Gloria Estefan, but is the 14th overall, released in 1991 (see 1991 in music). After the hit album Cuts Both Ways, and the near-tragic accident for Estefan during the "Get on Your Feet Tour", she portrayed her emotion on Into the Light. The theme of the album was bouncing back from the darkness of disaster, hence the album's title.
Gloria Estefan (born Gloria María Fajardo, September 1, 1957, in Havana, Cuba) is a seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, actress and social activist. Known as the "Queen of Latin Pop", she in the top 100 best-selling music artists with over 100 million albums sold worldwide, 3. million of those in the United States. Estefan is the most successful crossover performer in Latin music to date.
Greatest Hits Vol. II is the third English greatest hits album released by American singer Gloria Estefan, but is the fourth compilation and twenty-third album overall, released in 2001. Greatest Hits Vol. II is the follow-up to Estefan's first hits album (the second compilation which was released only in Europe). The album includes most of all her English hits from 1994's Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me up to the then-recent Gloria! (1998).
